Speech Therapy
Speech therapy supports individuals in overcoming speech and language challenges to be able to freely express their needs and share their thoughts.
  • What areas of communication can Speech Therapy help with?
Speech refers to the physical ability to produce sounds. Challenges related to speech, language, voice, cognition, and oral motor capabilities can all be addressed within a Speech Therapy program.
  • Who might benefit from Speech Therapy?
A speech therapist will conduct an assessment to determine if speech therapy could be beneficial for a child. Parents or guardians are encouraged to look out for signs that a child might need a speech evaluation. Some signs include:
    • not reaching age specific speech milestones
    • unclear speech
    • any other challenges related to communication
  • When can children start receiving Speech Therapy?
While there is no required age to start a speech therapy program, clinical evidence shows that starting intervention at an early age has the best results.
  • How long does a Speech Therapy Program take?
As each child's speech journey is unique, the length of the speech therapy program will be different for everyone. Factors that can affect the length of the program include: the child's age, diagnosis, and practice at home.
